In BC, one in five students lives in poverty. This means that one out of every five students can’t afford to attend their grad and to me, this was just not right. I had always thought that attending your prom was a right of passage, a reward for graduating and finishing high school. The thought of so many students not being able to attend their grad because of money made me incredibly sad and determined to do something about it.
From humble beginnings we have grown into an organization that is a registered non-profit with the BC Government with a Board of 7 Directors who manage the day to day operations of the Foundation. We are also proud to be a member of the Langley Chamber of Commerce.
The amazing volunteers and the communities we live in have made all this possible. I am humbled and amazed by the generous hearts of the all those who have donated and volunteered. This includes those who have donated grad wear and accessories, and local businesses who have supported us by being drop off locations!
To provide a service to deserving grads in our community that have faced and overcome adversity by providing grad wear and accessories to those who may not be fortunate enough to afford them.
To see that all young adults who have reached their graduation milestone are able to attend grad with pride and dignity.
We would personally like to extend a huge thank you to all those who have given their time, money and resources to make this program successful. You are all amazing!
We couldn’t have done this without you!
